Kalplex

Finland & the Nordics

Paying by invoice is common across the Nordics. Kalplex starts with Finland, which uses the euro and SEPA Core, and is working towards Sweden and Denmark's local Direct Debit schemes.

SEPA Direct Debit collects euro only. Swedish and Danish payers are debited through their national schemes.

Do I need a licence to offer pay later in Finland?
Merchant-run deferred payment that is interest-free, fee-free and paid within 50 days of delivery (14 for large online merchants) is excluded from CCD2. National implementations differ, so take local legal advice before launch.
How do I get a SEPA creditor identifier?
Ask your bank — Finnish banks arrange SEPA creditor identifiers for their business customers.
Who carries the risk if a shopper doesn't pay?
You do, as you already do with a plain invoice. Kalplex reduces it with risk rules, automatic debits and dunning, but never buys the receivable.
Can shoppers still get their money back?
Yes. Under SEPA Core, payers can ask their bank to refund an authorised debit within 8 weeks. Kalplex picks up the return and follows up.
